HMD Global has already started expanding its lineup in Nokia smartphones, with Nokia 6, and within a week, leaks about another upcoming Nokia handset are surfacing.
A user has posted two images on Baidu allegedly of Nokia 1 which show the device’s back panels with Nokia branding in the center and camera and LED flash placed above that. However, there is one major difference in the two images, which is the structure of the camera module. The camera and LED lens on one image are covered by a polycarbonate, whereas the module is surrounded by glass in the other photo. This could mean that Nokia is still firming up the final design.
Previously, it has been reported that Nokia 1 will be the first handset to run on Android Oreo (Go Edition), Google’s toned-down version of its latest Android Oreo operating system. The Nokia 1 is expected to sport an HD display of 720×1280 pixel resolution, 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, making entry-level level handset at best.
To recall, the Android Oreo (Go Edition) was launched in India as a lighter version of Google’s Android Oreo to restraint the widespread issue of ‘Android fragmentation’. With the Go Edition, Google aims to bring Android Oreo features to budget devices as well. The highlight of the Go Edition is that it offers its own set of apps – namely Files Go, Google Go, Google Maps Go and more – that are optimized to run on smartphones running on 1GB or 512MB RAM capacity.
